WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Mentorship and Coaching
Maxine meaning “the greatest”, one person who carries true leadership on her shoulders, yes for the one 1 and a half years I have known her as my mentor, she has lived up to her name.
Long story short, I asked Maxine to be my mentor from the Banks mentorship program and guess what she agreed, through her busy schedule she made time for me and made it count. I was looking to transition to a test analyst role; she was a test analyst manager but unlike many “she made time”.
She literally gave me something she can never claim back, today I stand tall as a test analyst at the bank, she has planted a seed, and I will definitely nurture it by giving back to others what she gave to me. Her legacy will forever live in me.
Mentorship and Coaching
I cannot recommend Maxine Smith highly enough. Beyond her deep expertise as a coach, she possesses the rare ability to see untapped potential and turn into reality. Maxine didn’t just offer advice, she provided a genuine opportunity for me to pursue my passions and created a platform where I could truly shine. Her guidance was the perfect balance of support and challenge, allowing me to excel and gain confidence in my work. If you are looking for a mentor who invests in your growth as much as you do, Maxine is HER.
I will forever give thanks to you.
Personal and Professional
I recently listened to Maxine’s podcast who explored two topics that really resonated with me: navigating workplace harassment and starting a career in IT without a formal degree. I found the conversation both insightful and encouraging.
What stood out to me most was the way she approached workplace harassment. It wasn’t just about policies or procedures – it was about real experiences and emotional challenges people face. I appreciated the practical advice on recognising less obvious forms of harassment and setting boundaries. The emphasis on self-advocacy and reaching out for support really stayed with me.
The discussion about breaking into IT without a degree was equally inspiring. As someone interested in growing within this space, I found it reassuring to hear that there are alternative paths, such as certifications, self-learning and building a strong portfolio. She kept it realistic, which I valued – it wasn’t just motivational, but also honest about effort and persistence required.
I also liked how natural and relatable the conversation felt. It didn’t come across as overly rehearsed, which made it easier to connect with and reflect on how I can apply some of the advice in my own journey.
Overall, I found Maxine’s podcast to be a valuable listen, especially for anyone starting out, considering a transition into IT, or looking for guidance on handling workplacce challenges.
Leadership Coaching
I would like to thank you for your Leadership during the times when you were my manager at the bank. Your ability to manage people and tasks has led to the success of the team.
You have played a very important role on my career growth and have helped to instil confidence in me.
The most important lesson that I have learned from you is that leadership involves empowering others rather than doing everything yourself.
Thank you for everything, much appreciated.
Professional
As a business consultant and coach, I interacted with Maxine on a number of occasions when she participated as a delegate in my training programmes. I recall many instances where Maxine and I engaged in deep discussions about human behaviour, individual potential and how to deal with constraints in the everyday world. Maxine indicated a huge passion for coaching and assisting people to address limitations and explore opportunities. It’s wonderful to see how she is fulfilling this role, and I wish her every success on this chosen path.
