I woke up abruptly from my sleep with anxious thoughts and feelings rushing through my body feeling, I can barely breathe. My skin so stiffly wrapped around my bones leaving no room for my blood to flow through my veins, jaw is clenched so tight I think to myself no, no, no, is this what a heart attack feels like, or is it an anxiety attack?! I cannot piece it together and it is not going away.
Suddenly I hear this calm voice ‘breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth’ repeatedly very slowly in a calming way. I found myself doing this and slowly I could feel the tension being released from my mind, my thoughts were steady, my skin loosened and my bones heavy as they relaxed. Thank you, Jesus, thank you heavenlies for taking care of me. Just as I come to my full awareness…
It’s loadshedding again and I just cannot fall asleep. I begin to pray and thank the Almighty for the day. As I drifted into a peaceful sleepy state, I see this little girl she’s around 9 years old, in a small bedroom with large windows. Infront there is a dressing table with three horizontal mirrors on it. Looking into the mirror with determination in her eyes and tears pouring down on her cheeks. She says ‘one day I pray to be out of here, to stop being poor, to stop not having food for days, to stop not being in control. I want this life to be over and start again better like other people do.
We were all once, in a place like this at some point in our lives but why am I here now, I think to myself (I hear the soft calming voice again Wisdom) “because you are back in the state of that little girl at 9 years old. Your mind is opening a memory that was locked away and resurfaced because you carry the unsafe, vulnerable, insecure filled with despair emotions again”.
How does so many years back impact my current state of mind and why, I wonder. Hmmm…Like a lightning bolt that just struck, aha! It clicked. I am not that defenceless little girl anymore.Services Offered
I have overcome poverty,
I live in my own home,
I have food all the time,
And I can control how I respond to things around me, I am the author of my destiny. I take back my power and function from my inner being.
I have outgrown that 9-year-old girl I used to be.
We evolve throughout our years in our thinking and in our doing. Practicing new ways of going about our personal and professional lives. Taking risks, removing limits we placed on ourselves. This is part of our human journey which some humans embrace, and others still deny themselves this transition because of the conditioning they grew up with. Booking Form
