Whose journey is it anyway?
Driving to work this morning on the highway, behind me is a dark blue Ferrari cruising
with no rush at all. I’m all green because why isn’t that me yet?
God I’ve been through struggles since I can remember, when is it my turn.
When do I get to enjoy the leisure’s of life?
Month to month I ask, OMGash, will the budget make it.
Even though I have a standard budget every month and have set goals on what
I plan to achieve with it, it all seems so far and yes I do get impatient with myself
because I’m always seeking ways to make extra income so that I can get a rest for once in my life.
But do I stop wanting more out of life NO, NO, NO!
I’m not a high flyer or live beyond my means, but I have made some costly
financial mistakes and learning from them. It’s not always easy to say
NO I can’t afford, No we don’t have enough,
No I can’t help with groceries this month, No, No, NO.
It becomes a pattern that we need to break, I need to break and end.
At times I get angry because I had too high expectations of others.
I think why can’t they be as concerned as I am, why don’t they worry about their future,
why do they think they deserve what they have, why can’t they help too,
why are they so selfish. BUT then God says give and you shall receive.
We should not expect anything in return but once again as human beings
we think that it’s only fair that when you see someone in need of a helping hand
you stretch out yours especially if its family. How sad, because it’s the ‘family that
takes and says it’s your duty.
I heard something very profound this weekend from Veda (www.vedad.co.).
She said’ you are alone in your bubble – sphere of control. You cannot let anyone inside
that bubble because it’s meant for you alone’. Meaning there are times when you have
to shut everyone out of your thoughts and decisions and make the ones you think and
know is best for you alone. Everyone else that matters will adapt.
