It’s how it’s supposed to be. How many of us have heard this line before and thought to ourselves, yes they’re
right it’s “how it’s supposed to be”.

What am I supposed to do, be or live?
Go to school get an education, it’s what you supposed to do!
Get a degree it will advance your career, it’s what you supposed to do!
Get a job and work your way up the ladder, it’s what you supposed to do!
Get married and have kids, it’s what you supposed to do!

It all works in a sequence of events that supposed to take place in one’s life and for some, at a certain age or level in our life times,
but has anyone ever questioned it before, like really sit back and ask but is this how my life is supposed to be percieved or lived?

How it’s not supposed to be!
Finish school and don’t drop out, it’s how it’s supposed to be!
Don’t fall pregnant before you get married, it’s how it’s supposed to be!
Don’t quit your job if you hate it, it’s how it’s supposed to be!

Have you ever questioned any of these life guidelines or have you just followed blindly, the way you do follow
people or events on social media? Don’t get me wrong, we all have to follow certain paths in life,
to achieve the desired result but also let’s not blindly follow these events without the knowledge of knowing
why it should take place.
Parents, role models, siblings, corporate role models, all portray lifestyles that we want to emulate in our
lives, which is not always a bad thing.
However question why it supposed to be that way and if it suits you and the path that you would like to journey on.

There is a stigma around this “supposed to be” way of life. And it holds most people back, still in todays world from achieving and
living their dreams. You are condemned by society or your inner circles if you live outside of these supposed to be walls.
Life is unpredictable and doesn’t always play out the way we imagine but thank God we can always learn and make different
decisions and choose another pathway.

How many times do we hear people say,” don’t date a woman or man with a child”, that comes with too much
baggage. You never lived a day in their struggle, neither have you fought a battle in the lives.
How many times have you heard, she’s too loud and drinks like a fish, it’s unlady like behaviour, not good
enough for you!
How many times have you heard or even said that guy is a total loser because he works as a cleaner, or refuse
removal worker or dresses not accordingly.
How many times have your heard or said, she is too independent, not submissive to a mans authority or acts like a man, that she is
incapable of meeting anyone! How many times have you heard or said you just not good
enough!

For all those who have a map on “how it’s supposed to be” STOP and ask yourself, have I lived my life the way
it’s supposed to be. Have I questioned and been questioned on how
it’s supposed to be. Have I followed the pack because it’s how it’s supposed to be. Don’t rob your child/ren, partners, friends,
colleagues or strangers, of their life circumstances and choices because you think you know how it’s supposed to be.

Do yourself a favor and use the largest search engine in the world to educate yourself on who dropped out of
school and is successful in their lives, is a successful single parent, married a single parent, or just look
around in your circles today.
Give your kids the opportunity to question and give fact based answers! Support, love and engage with your inner circles.
Live a knowledgeable life. Stop being ignorant, living in “in my day” ways. Seek advice from professionals, leaders, life coaches,
personal trainers, upskilling yourself is the best gift you can give to yourself and those you cross paths with.
